In the fall of 2008, Clay Hill Farm launched a unique, first of its kind, wedding contest. The Green Wedding Giveaway® challenged engaged couples to creatively explore the parallel of a commitment to each other and a commitment to the earth for a chance to win an all-inclusive wedding ceremony & reception for up to 100 guests at Clay Hill Farm on the summer solstice. Hits poured into the Green Wedding site, (www.greenweddinggiveaway.com), as entries came in from all over the world. Creativity was the key, and five finalists were chosen in January of 2009 who then began campaigning for public votes. Over 14, 000 votes were cast in the month of voting as the public picked a grand-prize winner just in time for Valentine's Day. The 2009 winners, Jonathan Blakeslee and Joelle Guerard, were married at Clay Hill Farm on June 21, 2009.

With exciting new sponsors, enthusiastic spokespeople, a solid message and an estimated grand prize wedding package well over $40,000, Clay Hill Farm's Green Wedding Giveaway® 2010 is rolling out the green in a big way. "Winning was the most amazing experience of our lives," says Jonathan Blakeslee, co-winner of the 2009 GWGC and owner of White Heron Tea. "From the start when we first saw the website through the judging process where we met the other finalist to the final announcement and the wedding itself, everything was just perfectly planned and organized down to the last letter. Clay Hill Farm and all the sponsors made us feel like the most important people in the world. It was just a wonderful experience."

Even with the economy still challenging us all, Clay Hill Farm's Green Wedding Giveaway® contest 2010 is committed to giving away a complete dream wedding to real people making a real difference in the world. The contest is not a measurement of green. "Not at all," says Jennifer Lewis-McShera, head of Clay Hill Farm's wedding department and founder of the Green Wedding Giveaway®. "Our contest encourages couples to creatively explore how green can, could or does fit into their lives together. Breaking green down by shades can encourage participation on all levels. The Green Wedding Giveaway® contest is about connectedness, empowerment and a celebration of all green contributions." Clay Hill Farm's message, and the message of the contest, is; we are all green in some way. So, pick your shade and shout it to the world! TM"

As year two of the contest begins with couples contemplating their shade of green, real people will again share how they are making a difference in the world. When asked if he and Joelle had any advice for the Green Wedding Giveaway® 2010 contestants, Blakeslee replied, " The best advice we could give people when entering into this contest is to just be honest, work together, be yourself and you will shine".

The contest for 2010 is now open! Visit www.greenweddinggiveaway.com to obtain more

in-depth information and to download the entry form. Public voting will determine the 2010 winning couple...who will win a dream wedding at Clay Hill Farm in Cape Neddick, Maine next summer.
