FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New Orleans, Louisiana, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) August 24, 2011 --Katherine Brooks, a passionate and award-winning filmmaker, has created and directed some of television’s hottest shows, including three seasons of the Emmy-Award winning show, The Osbournes and the groundbreaking MTV show, The Real World as well as many others. She has been aptly crowned the queen of “serious reality TV”. Brooks’ feature directorial debut, Loving Annabelle garnered critical success. Her most recent accomplishment was released in July, Waking Madison. Her body of work on YouTube alone has solicited over 85 million views.

Brooks’ latest endeavor is filming a documentary, Face 2 Face. The concept for Face 2 Face was born from Brooks’ feeling of isolation and disconnection. Katherine Brooks had numerous awards, accolades, and thousands of “friends” in the cloud of Facebook and Twitter. In Brooks’ words – “Success doesn’t mean fulfillment.” In the aftermath of a suicide attempt, Brooks was struck with an idea to give her life purpose and direction. She decided to unplug from social media and connect with some of the strangers that were her virtual friends. Brooks posted on her Facebook fan page that she would meet the first 50 people that responded to the post. So this summer, as a reality filmmaker, Brooks’ travelled over 11,000 miles crossing the country filming the lives of her friends outside of the cloud. This journey started as a journey to become connected in a disconnected world but has turned into an expedition to heal a damaged spirit, conquer fears, and recapture laughter in her soul – in essence, embrace her life, while connecting to real people and their unique lives. This could only be accomplished face to face.

This indie film is scheduled to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2012.

Meet Katherine Brooks at the Face 2 Face wrap party in Chicago on Saturday, August 27, 2011. Jordis Unga (CBS Rockstar) will perform live with Cari Ray opening.
