RedCandy Games' TIC: Part 1 Inspires Audience and Wows Local Industry at Gamefest 2011

TIC:Part 1 from RedCandy Games received 1rst place and Audience Choice awards at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's annual GameFest on May 7, 2011, sponsored by Vicarious Visions (well-known for development on franchises such as Guitar Hero, DJ Hero and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance) and Agora Games. Tic's intuitive/addictive play mechanics and charming visual style won over the crowd and impressed judges to earn the team a cash prize and valuation by the VV team. The event garnered over 200 attendees across multiple schools including Champlain College,Worcester Polytechnic, and featured event keynote Brian Reynolds-Chief Game Designer at Zynga.

In TIC: Part 1, players take on the role of a unicycling, wall-drilling, helicoptering mining robot in the first three chapters of the 2.5D action-adventure coming to Xbox Live Indie Games. The game was developed using RedCandy Games' proprietary engine "JawBreaker," to allow in-game level/challenge editing and support the title's eye-popping 3D-composited art style. RedCandy Games has plans to release TIC: Part 1 this month on the Xbox Live Indie Marketplace for only 240msp.
