Reliance Big: Reliance Betting Big on Internet Radi

The new venture has been christened Big Net Radio.

The service is available over broadband and to handsets compatible with third-generation or 3G networks. Three channels on offer as of now are humour, celebrity and devotional.

According to Mahesh Murthy, founder chief executive, pinstorm.com, a web consultancy, the move is significant. Internet radio can pose competition to private FM channels as they thrive on local, classified advertisers – and RBNL plans to target them big time.
