Blog Dog Bebe Butters Gets Petriotic on Texas Dogs and Cats Magazine Cover and Centerfold
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) July 6, 2010 --
HOUSTON (July 4, 2010) -- The pawdel on July's Texas Dogs and Cats Magazine is no stranger to local stardom and proves his motto that "there's a star in every rescue". Rescue Chihuahua Bebe Butters uses social media and traditional media to change Houston’s culture and mindset to save other furry souls and has even been interviewed on television for his efforts.
His motto was inspired by his true rescue tale featured in his blog BloggingBebeButters.com which is featured on DogTime.com and TexasDogsandCats.com. It is a chronological documentary, written in his perspective, of his adventures and observations from rescue to present. Bebe Butters is also on Facebook, Twitter, and CitySearch. He has also attended intermediate social media classes at Bright Sky Press.
Bebe Butters’ mission is to help save the approximate 80,000 animals that are euthanized each year in the Houston/Harris County shelters via his brushes of local fame for his social media efforts to make adoption more popular. With 39% of American households already reporting dog ownership, his goal is to reach the other 61% to become new pet owners. "We particularly want to target those who never considered adding a furry member to their family and those who live alone. We want to show how rescues have enriched new adopters’ lives by giving everyone a second chance for love," says his owner who remains anonymous for creative purposes.

Bebe Butters Rescue Story
It was a blistering summer day in June 2009 in Houston, Texas. A neglected 10-pound Chihuahua was lost, thirsty, dirty, hungry, injured, and roaming the streets of an old, historic neighborhood called Houston Heights.
It was 4:00 PM, the hottest part of the day, and it was a record 106 degrees in Houston.
He decided to head to a busy street with shops to see if he could find help. Perhaps, the Chihuahua saw the blue and white store sign of a dog and a cat or he smelled an animal scent and sought refuge in the Heights Shopping Pavilion. He saw rows of cars parked out front of the store and saw a truck that offered shade from the heat. He ran underneath to keep from burning his paws on the boiling concrete. Little did he know, an antique salesperson working several doors down had seen him run underneath the truck…the truck that belonged to the founder of Friends For Life, one of only a few no-kill, animal adoption centers in Houston. On that day, he was rescued and fostered events that are documented on his pet adoption blog, BloggingBebeButters.com.
