The restaurant is a take on modern Italian food brought to you by Chef John des Rosiers of owner and chef of the Chicago area restaurants Inovasi and Wisma. "Like the Inovasi location, Moderno will maintain a cozy appearance, with lots of soft lighting, there will be large antique bulbs suspended randomly about the place, and the vibe of the place will be modern from an Italian art perspective. The menu will consist of categories like: small dishes, pizza, pasta, and dishes to share. The entire menu is made from scratch, everything, even the gelato.”

“The wine list will be 35% Italian, 50% New World, 15% French and Spanish. All wines will be small producers, variety correct, and have a sense of place of where they are from. “

Morderno’s menu is crafted by Chef John des Rosiers, chef and owner of two restaurants having three locations and growing in the Chicago land area. With the success of Inovasi, des Rosiers main restaurant, and the success of des Rosiers chain of Wisma locations, Moderno is the next big endeavor from this up and coming chef in the Chicago land area.
