Riding high: Business Environment backs Cycle to Work scheme

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 13, 2012 -- The serviced office operator, located on Avebury Boulevard, has installed a new cycle rack in its car park to accommodate 15 bikes. The rack is part-funded by Milton Keynes council, Allianz Insurance plc – also located in the building – and Business Environment.

John Edwards, centre manager of Business Environment Milton Keynes, said: “Along with helping to maintain a healthy team of staff, cycling to work reduces CO2
emissions and saves money - the average cyclist saves £600 every year in car running costs - so the benefits are multi-fold.”

With eight employees and clients already regularly cycling to work and at least another 11 likely to get on their bikes before Christmas, Business Environment expects the new rack to really boost the uptake in cycling at the company.

Business Environment regularly takes part in initiatives to help encourage cycling. This year as part of National Bike Week it set up a series of courses for employees with a range of cycling abilities, from beginners to experienced riders who needed to refresh their road skills.
