FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 28, 2011 -- In partnership with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office – British Embassy to Zagreb, RIPA International has begun a 6 month Public Administration Reform programme in three Croatian municipalities.

The objective of the programme is to engage local government representatives in a cultural change agenda. It specifically aims at strengthening quality management and public service delivery in local administrations ahead of the country’s entry into the European Union.

Based on an initial Scoping Study trip to Croatia, the programme was tailored to meet the specific needs and requirements of 3 Croatian municipalities. A holistic 3-stage approach has been agreed with the support of local government senior authorities.

The first phase of the programme – a participative seminar on challenges and real practices adopted by the UK government - was delivered throughout the 3rd week of October to the three chosen municipalities in Croatia: Zadar, Split and Knin.

The second stage of the programme consists of developing a Public Service Delivery Plan during a three-month period, which will enable participants to transfer their learning to organisational reality.

The final stage (3) will be approached as an “experiential forum” in March 2012 where the participants will share their experiences, challenges faced and successes achieved during the PSDP implementation. This will enable the delegates to reinforce their learning and maximise the capacity to transfer the new knowledge and techniques with their organisations.

This move marks the success of RIPA International in working with organisations and governments around the world on development and capacity building projects that increase efficiency, knowledge-sharing and sustainability.
