Rising Soul Productions to Host Fifth Edition of Songwriter Sessions

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 11, 2010 -- New York City, February 11, 2010 -- Rising Soul Productions will host their fifth event dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the songwriter on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at R Bar (218 Bowery) in New York City. The night, entitled Black Love, will include feature artists, live bands, and an open mic celebrating Black History Month and Valentine’s Day. Tickets will be available at the door for ten dollars and performers will take the stage promptly at 7:30pm.

The event was designed for artists and musicians to come out and share their original material, jam with each other, and network to cultivate artistic collaborations. Songwriter Sessions fills a gap in the New York City music scene by providing an authentic space for unsigned and independent songwriters, poets and musicians of any genre to meet other like-minded individuals, generate support systems and expand their fan base. The Songwriter Sessions series aims to mix styles to encourage uniting different music scenes and people. The house band, ready to jam with feature and open mic artists, features Giorgio on guitar, Timmy on bass and Allan on drums.

The series was created by NYU Music Business graduate and singer/songwriter Sabrina Clery through her company, Rising Soul Productions. Sabrina, a former marketing specialist for VIBE Media Group, was the brand manager for VIBE’s monthly live showcase, VSessions LIVE!, and created this event to cater to unsigned and independent artists. Clery states, “As a singer/songwriter, I wanted to do my part to support other creative, authentic artists who have limited venues to share their unique expressions.”
