ROBOT MONKEY WORLD CHIMPIONSHIP II

Brooklyn this Saturday, 26 September, from 4-10 pm when The Robot Monkey World Chimpionship makes a highly anticipated second visit to Brooklyn with an interactive installation. t.b.d. patrons and their friends fight for bragging rights while controlling toy remote control primates in battle.

Two teams of Robot Monkeys square off in a series of soccer-style tournaments starting at 6pm in the “Circle of Doom”, the scale model stadium with a captive toy audience. Customers will be encouraged to throw their names in to fight for dominance with prizes awarded to the winners.

Dan Walker’s Calder-inspired multimedia art installations bring his background and interests in mechanical toys and art together in a unique event for the sports fan, the art appreciator, and the average punter. Although it began as a spoof on the abundance of advertising in professional sports, the installation now features real sponsored teams and advertisements accumulated as it travels from city to city.  Audience members will compete for prizes as live commentators cover the games.

Drink specials from 6-8 on Jameson and Absolut at the bar. Event plays out until the best simian wins.

MyPAC (myprivateartclub.com) promotes cross city exchanges of urban artists.  This event is a fundraiser to take the installation to Miami in December.
