Romaguera Photography Welcomes The Longest Running National Professional Photographers Convention to New Orleans

Romaguera Photography, Inc. is thrilled to announce that the longest running and one of the largest national professional photographers convention and trade show will be hosted at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, January 15 – 17, 2012. Romaguera Photography’s founder and President, Ralph Romaguera Sr. has been an integral component to the planning and return of the convention and trade show to New Orleans, which was last hosted in the Crescent City in January 2005. Romaguera has served on the Board of Directors of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) since 2006 and was elected as Treasurer in 2011, he has been an active member of the PPA for over 40 years.

ImagingUSA will provide an economic boost the local economy with an expectant attendance of 10,000 attendees. Local restaurants and bars are expected to have crowds of camera toting professional photographers experiencing the local flair, tastes and libations that New Orleans is infamously know for.

Ralph Romaguera began his photographic career in the U.S. Naval Reserve and opened his first portrait studio in 1971. Romaguera has served as President of the Greater New Orleans Guild, the Professional Photographers of Louisiana, the Southwestern Professional Photographers Association and the American Society of Photographers. As a platform speaker and a photographic judge, Ralph has lectured throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Great Britain, Korea and China. He has presented on numerous occasions at the national PPA convention and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International. He has been an instructor for the Winona International School for Professional Photography, Texas School of Professional Photography as well as many others. Romaguera has received his Masters and Craftsman Degrees and is certified by the Professional Photographers of America.

Romaguera’s exhibition prints have been accepted in the General, Loan and Masters’ Loan Exhibits of the Professional Photographers of America and is a ten-time winner of the prestigious Kodak Gallery Award, given for photographic excellence. Ralph is a multi National Award recipient, given as a special honor in recognition of outstanding service to professional photography. He has been honored numerous times as "Photographer of the Year" by the Professional Photographers of Louisiana, an organization that has also honored him with a "Lifetime Achievement Award." Ralph has recently been honored by being named the 96th fellow in the American Society of Photographers, a distinction only claimed by 70 living photographers.
