Rtn. V. Balasundaram, President of Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery, honoured with Benchmark Leader Award

Balasundaram, President of Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery, was honoured with 'Benchmark Leader Award' at a glittering function held at Hotel Savera, Chennai, at 7 p.m. on 16th July 2011. The function had a huge gathering with Rotarians from nearly 45 Rotary clubs from the Rotary District 3230.

Rtn. V. Balasundaram was honoured by Rotary Club of Madras Mount for rendering outstanding services as President of Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery during the year 2010-11.

The Awards Committee headed by Rtn. R. Marimuthu, Chairman -Awards and Recognition, of Rotary Club of Madras Mount, selected Rtn. V. Balasundaram for this prestigious award, in view of his outstanding service to the society in 2010-11 as President of Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery, affiliated to Rotary International District 3230.

The Award was presented by District Governor Rtn. A. Sampathkumar of RI District 3230, in the presence of Past District Governor Rtn. N. Govindraj of RI Dist. 2980.

Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery scaled new heights under the leadership of Rtn. V. Balasundaram and bagged the following awards for the year 2010-11 from the RI District 3230.

- Community Service - Health - Second Place
- Community Service - Development - Second Place
- Vocational Service -First Place
- Gold Award in Community Services -Health

- Outstanding Rotary Service Award (Top 20 Clubs Award)
- Presidential Citation signed by President of Rotary International, USA, given with Distinction
