Samsung Felicitates The Winners Of ‘Samsung Innovation Quotient’

New Delhi, Delhi, India, Republic of (Free-Press-Release.com) January 3, 2012 -- The Grand Finale of the ‘Samsung Innovation Quotient’, an exclusive platform that showcases and recognises the best of innovations across the nation, saw top 5 shortlisted innovators present their innovations before a high powered jury comprising of Raman Roy, CMD, Quattro BPO Solutions; Sasha Mirchandani, MD, Kae Capital; Alok Kejriwal, CEO, Games2win; Senthil Chengalvarayan, President & Editorial Director, TV 18 Business Media and Mr. J S Shin, President & CEO, Samsung South West Asia.

The Samsung Innovation Quotient Award went to K Chandrasekhar for his innovation ‘3nethra’ on preventive eye care ; the First Runner Up Award went to Vijay Bhaskar Reddy for Kisan Raja – a solution for farmers that allows them to remotely control the agricultural motor and the 2nd runner up Award went to C Mallesham for the Laxmi Asu Machine.

Speaking on the occasion, stated Mr. Shin, “Samsung Innovation Quotient was created under the aegis of Samsung Hope Project, our CSR Initiative, to promote innovations that benefit the Indian community at large. The theme of Samsung Innovation Quotient is Innovation for development and we are very happy that all the innovations that have been recognised at this Forum are truly benefitting the community in their own unique way.

The Grand Finale was attended by leading luminaries from the field of innovation like Professor Dinesh Mohan from IIT, Delhi, Dr H Harish Hande, MD, SELCO India; Industry and government representatives as well as institutions.

‘Samsung Innovation Quotient’ was a national talent hunt initiative that was instituted in May 2011 to recognise innovators from all parts of India who after prodigious attempts have succeeded in crafting an extraordinary product or solution that decodes unique ways to fulfill mass needs in a comprehensive manner.

Samsung Innovation Quotient received over 300 entries explaining views and ideas of innovators and social entrepreneurs from various parts of the country.

The second round involved a preliminary discussion between the qualifiers and mentors & visual experts who provided inputs and insights on their innovation. These qualified innovators then presented their work and ideas to a power-packed jury such as Sandeep Farias, Founder and Managing Director at Elevar Equity; Dave Wallack, Senior CEO, IFMR Ventures; Suresh Venkat, Editor (Technologies & Special Features), CNBC-TV18; Krishan Sree Kumar, CEO Intellecap and Dipesh Shah, Vice President, Samsung India which was then followed by an interactive session.
