traveling to coastal beach events like the AVP Pro Beach volleyball tour, Loews Dog Surfing Competition, The Helen Woodward Surf Dog Surfing Contest and the Imperial Beach Sand Castle Contest to name a few. It is a list of events and places that few if any photographers are able to make as their main focus and ones that showcase what makes Southern California such a wondeful place to live and visit.

Callahan came out to live in San Diego after attending the University of Minnesota and growing up
in the mid west and his photography captures the image and beach culture that he grew up watching
on TV and in books and magazines. According to Callahan his photos and videos represent
the "real life Baywatch", where the people, swimsuit models, places and events are real and part of
everyday life living in the California beach cities.

Since becoming the head photographer for SoCal Beaches Magazine Callahan has been put on many

assignments to shoot classic cars and beautiful swimwear models and he has gained a reputation for
creating unique images that represent the "Beach Boys" culture from the 1950's. The classic cars
include woodies, beach backgrounds, surfboards, surfers and even behind the scenes videos and photos
with the car owners themselves. This has also led to assignments for numerous swimweart manufactures
and magazines including MAXIM Magazine.

Southern California hosts some of the best classic car shows in the country which Callahan also attends
and covers including the Wave Crest Woodie Car Show at Moonlight Beach and the La Jolla Classic Motor

Car Show which is held at Scripps Park in La Jolla Cove overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

With well over two million views on Youtube.com/socalbeachesmagazine and hundreds of thousands of visitors to their group of websites it is obvious that Callahan has hit a vein with viewers who love the wide variety of subjects and material that are photographed and video taped through out his beach travels. It is certainly proof that people from around the
world love seeing the California beach lifestyle and the wide variety of people and events that make them
the best beaches in the world to live at or visit.

For Callahan photography and covering California's beaches is a love and committment to capturing and showcasing the beach lifestyle. "I am very lucky to be in a position where my photos and videos focus on capturing a lifestyle and place that very few people are able to enjoy", he said "Hopefully my work will enable people to enjoy what this area
