FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Diego, California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) June 23, 2011 -- KMA Architecture & Engineering (KMA) has announced that construction is complete for a new San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU) branch in Oceanside. The facility, a freestanding building within the Towne Center North retail center at College Boulevard and Mission Avenue, is now open for business at 625 College Boulevard.

The 4,700 square-foot SDCCU commercial tenant improvement project began in October of 2010, and included demolition and construction to transform the tenant space into a Class A Credit Union Branch.

“KMA is proud to be part of the SDCCU opening in Oceanside, their 28th branch,” said Tim Rubesh, principal architect at KMA. “The retail center site is also home to well-known retailers, including WalMart, Vons and Starbucks, putting the new SDCCU branch front and center in a busy and popular shopping complex and thriving neighborhood.

“We have had a long-standing project-based relationship with SDCCU and have designed and constructed many branches throughout San Diego, Riverside and Orange counties, including branches in Solana Beach, Encinitas, Murrieta, Poway, La Mesa, Temecula, Laguna Niguel and Mission Valley.”

The exterior of the building remains largely unaltered for compatibility with the surrounding retail center, but was fitted with new awnings and painted with a fresh color scheme. An exterior ATM is included in the storefront for customer convenience. The redesigned interior of the building features floor-to-ceiling frameless glass to separate offices and function as partitions.

The décor features rich interior materials such as custom millwork pieces and a combination of porcelain and ceramic floor tiles. These elements, along with the pendant lighting over the teller line and reception desk, create an understated, modern design theme with the use of neutral tones of warm grey, brown and tan.

KMA provided architecture, mechanical and plumbing engineering services for the building. Electrical engineering was provided by Lopez Engineering. The KMA project team consisted of Tim Rubesh, Ilia Voronchihin, and Alison Warren. Starrett Construction, Inc. was the general contractor.
