FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 25, 2009 --
Ralph Gracie Academy announces a new program for early risers who want to kick start their fitness for the new year and pick up kickboxing skills at the same time. Ralph Gracie has been a champion fighter for over ten 10 years and has been called one of the best ground fighters in the world. Now, with the goal of providing quality fitness and weight loss through authentic muay thai kickboxing, he is announcing his team's inaugural four week bootcamp, which is set to "kick off" in the new year.
"Our Bay Area Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu group exercise classes are an excellent way to develop muscle tone and develop fighting skills on the ground. And now this new four week boot camp will give attendees of all levels the opportunity to learn solid kickboxing basics and get fit, achieve weight loss and have fun at the same time." says Program Manager Catherine Lee.
The two instructors who will be facilitating the bootcamp have been working together for years and have complimentary skill sets. Aaron "Bloodspiller" Miller is an amateur muay thai kickboxer and former Navy Seal. His partner, Matt O'Brien, is also a kickboxer and certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and he possesses a B.S. in Exercise Science.
"There is a big demand for quality, science-based fitness training these days," says O'Brien. "But people also want to have a purpose and goal -- that's why the 4-week format is so ideal. You won't get bogged down and find yourself doing the same class format over and over. This bootcamp is progressive and planned out purposefully."
Students will begin with basic techniques and generalized fitness protocols. As the camp progresses, it will move towards an expanded kickboxing skill set, fueled by sport specific conditioning drills.
"It will be tough but safe," according to Miller. "We know how to build people's bodies up, not break them down. Using a cyclical approach, we avoid repetitive motions that burn people out, but we can still achieve a realistic dose of fitness quickly."
The first bootcamp will begin on Monday, January 4th and run until January 29th and be held at the Ralph Gracie Jujitsu School on 1166 Howard St (at 8th Street), San Francisco, CA, in SoMa. For more information contact Lee at rgbootcamp@gmail.com.
