San Francisco, CA - December 2012 - Kaz Matsune, a San Francisco Sushi Chef just added “Men Only Sushi Class” to his private sushi making classes list. “The idea came from one of the classes I taught where all participants were men. I realized that they too enjoyed learning sushi making as much as women participants. Most of all, they seemed to enjoy the time spent with their buddies,” Kaz says.

When we think of cooking classes, we think they are for women or housewives. It turns out that there are many men out there who are interested in learning cooking especially the art of sushi making. Besides, most of sushi chefs are men, according to Kaz.

“Men and women are just different, meaning they have different points of view, different way to enjoy a cooking class. Men want to learn very specific skills like knife handling, or detailed techniques on how to cut different types of fish. It’s a great weekend buddy activity while you enjoy a glass of sake as you create your own sashimi plate or maguro nigiri. The great bonus is that you can make the same dish to your loved ones when you go home and they will think that is very very sexy!”
