San Jose Personal Trainer Offers Free Halloween Workout in Exchange for Food for the Needy

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 5, 2010 --
San Jose-based personal trainer, Becky Williamson, of lifeSport Fitness (http://www.lifesportfitness.net) will hold her 2nd annual “Freaky Fat Loss” Halloween workout for charity on Saturday, October 30th in Willow Glen. Participants will don Halloween costumes, bring uncarved pumpkins as workout equipment, and exercise “boot camp” style to Halloween themed music. The event is free and is open to the public. In order to participate in the workout, participants must bring canned goods, which will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara County.
“We created this event to not only help a local charity, but also to bring out the kid in all of the participants and show them that fitness can be fun”, says Williamson, who teaches fitness boot camps in San Jose, Los Gatos and Campbell. Working out with a pumpkin is a novel idea and it makes people laugh, yet they’ll get a great workout as those pumpkins get heavy after awhile! We’ll teach them fun exercises using their pumpkins—like squats, overhead presses and lunges”. Immediately following the workout, there will be a raffle for door prizes, and an award for the best costume.
The “Freaky Fat Loss” boot camp workout will take place at St Francis Episcopal Church at 1205 Pine Ave. from 10:00-11:15 am on October 30th. Pre-registration is required. lifeSport Fitness welcomes people of all ages and fitness levels to participate in this novel event. Individuals interested in participating in the free workout can register online at http://www.bootcampinsanjose.com/workout-for-charity/. A short video showing highlights from last year’s event can also be seen at this web address.
At last year’s event, participants donated 150 pounds of food for needy San Jose families. lifeSport Fitness has set a goal to collect 300 pounds this year.
