Secretary for Environment Caroline Spelman was forced to admit she and the government we're wrong, and further more to apologise. The changes meant that the Save Our Forest campaigns had been successful with almost 1 million signatures on a single petition by 38degrees lobby group. This of course was a huge campaign for the labour party who fought with gusto on this debate.
