Secret dinners in hidden or unusual spaces - Set up and list your own Open for Dinner pop up restaurant

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 24, 2009 -- www.OpenforDinner.co.uk is the brainchild of Sandie Clark and on 1st December it launches as a unique listings directory for one-off or time-limited social dining events (so called pop-up restaurants).

‘Open for Dinner’ events will be staged in people’s homes or unusual spaces. Guests will take their own drinks and make a donation to the host for a suggested amount.

The OpenforDinner.co.uk directory will let potential hosts register their venue details and event dates. Would-be guests are also invited to register their interest. A CD guide on how to set up an ‘Open for Dinner’ pop-up dining event with over 100 recipes will also be available.

The key aims of the ‘Open for Dinner’ scheme are to:

• Encourage hosts to be creative with the type of venue they choose for their event

• Provide a rare opportunity to have secret dinners in hidden and private spaces not normally open to the public.

• Encourage charitable activities and donations

• Build a spectacular list of social dining events of all shapes and sizes throughout the UK

• Promote the use of menus that reflect the venue and setting as much as the personality and culture of the host and give rise to the concept of site-inspired dining

• Support local suppliers and markets

• Appeal to would-be guests in terms of the type of dining experience they prefer – exciting food, venues, people

• Provide an opportunity for guests and hosts to socialise and meet like-minded people

• Have a reputation for delivering out of the ordinary dining experiences across the UK

Putting it to the test, Sandie and husband Stephen will be hosting their own Open for Dinner at their contemporary cottage and small vineyard in Christow in the Teign Valley, Dartmoor. 6 dates have been pencilled in between February and April next year and they will be donating the proceeds from the night of 5th March to charity.
