Securities America Announces Officer Promotions
Securities America has announced major vertical shifts in its ranks. About 6 members of the mid level management have been elevated to senior positions.

LA VISTA, Neb. – Dec. 27, 2011 – Securities America has announced the following officer promotions for 2012:
Kirk Hulett, has been promoted to executive vice president of strategy and practice management. Hulett has been with Securities America 17 ½ years. He joined the firm as the director of human resources to establish the HR function inside the company. In 1998, he founded the firm’s Practice Management Department. He also serves as the chief strategy officer, supporting senior leadership in formulating and executing Securities America’s key corporate strategies.
Doreen Griffith, has been promoted to executive vice president. Griffith joined Securities America in 1999. As the chief information officer, Griffith led the team that developed the company’s e*Office tools. Griffith also provides executive leadership to the Rep Relations Center, Administrative Services, Enterprise Project Management and Compensation Processing departments.
Kevin Miller, has been promoted to senior vice president. Miller began his tenure at Securities America in January 2000. He joined the company in the Compliance Department as a compliance examiner. He then made the move to the Legal Department as assistant general counsel, then deputy general counsel. In 2008, Miller became Securities America’s chief compliance officer, overseeing broker-dealer and RIA compliance functions.
Leon Johnson, has been promoted to vice president of IS operations and technology support. Johnson first joined the company in 1995 as an operations non-brokerage processor. From the Operations Department he moved to the Information Services Department, where he was a computer operator, tech services analyst and IS team lead. He was then, transferred to the security team, where he held positions such as engineer, manager, director and then first vice president. Today, Johnson is the chief information security officer. He also leads the Rep Technology and Client Management teams, as well as the Information Systems Operations team.
Zach Parker, has been promoted to first vice president of annuities and insurance. Parker has worked at Securities America for six years. He started as a wealth planning specialist responsible for supporting advisors developing financial plans and income distribution strategies. In 2009, he assumed responsibility for oversight of all annuity, insurance and income distribution initiatives within the Wealth Management Department. In 2011, Securities America won the Thought Leadership award from the Retirement Industry Income Association for a paper Parker co-authored titled, “Capturing the Income Distribution Opportunity.”
Craig Zimmerman, has been promoted to first vice president of operations. Zimmerman joined Securities America after 17 years in the financial services industry. He is responsible for the daily support and workflow for all Operations Department functions – account processing, maintenance, cashiering and fees, brokerage services and trading. Zimmerman is also involved with strategic operations initiatives focused on delivering the best possible advisor experience.
