SECURITY COMPANY DONATES OVERNIGHT PATROLS TO SOUTHEND ON SEA CENOTAPH

The UK’s cenotaphs and war memorials are being targeted across the country for precious metals, vandalism and political views. An Essex company ArmourSecurity.com is offering its services to Southend Borough Council free of charge in order to help combat the increase in criminal activity. Clifford Connors, Armour’s Operations Director explains that “this is not a local concern, war memorials nationwide are being targeted and I feel it our duty as a part of the community and as a security provider to help protect these sites. This can be rolled out across the country if local Security companies like mine chip in. This is something I would be happy to co-ordinate. With remembrance services over for another year this issue must be kept in the spotlight”.
It is reported that the war memorials trust is dealing with 300 cases per month. The cost to protect all UK sites could be at a minimum of £1’000’000 per day. Clearly cost prohibitive.
