(Free-Press-Release.com) August 11, 2011 -- This model allows to measure the true concentration of NOx in flue gases, the sum of NO and NO2, which are the main cause of acid rain. the main cause of acid rain. Actually any analyzer with only three cells leaves a considerable margin of uncertainty, also because boilers from different manufacturers and technologies produce different percentages of NO2. The compulsory measurement of NOx is already being implemented in Europe and in Italy and that this trend is expected to continue.

Chemist 400 S: measurement cells for O2, CO/H2, NO and SO2

This model also measures the concentration of SO2 in flue gases, important for boilers fed with fuels containing significant quantities of sulphur, such as fuel oil. SO2 is also responsible for acid rain.

Other novelties that characterise the Chemist 400 series analyzers are:
• Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, for longer battery life
• Possibility to carry out the autozero cycle with the sampling probe inserted in the flue gas flow
• Additional dilution pump, with the dual function of protecting the CO cell from excessive CO concentrations and particularly to extend the CO measurement range from 0 ... 8000 ppm up to 0 ... 50,000 ppm. This feature is very useful for wood-fired boilers
• Ready for Bluetooth communication

• MiniUSB output for PC connection
• EVA protective casing with magnets
• Memory for 300 complete analyses
• 10 standard fuels in the memory (space for another 6), including wood and pellets
• Up to 10 different languages in the memory
• New firmware versions available for free and downloadable from www.seitron.it for tools up to date with the latest novelties

These are of course all the traditional strengths of the Chemist analyzers family:
• Impact printer on plain paper integrated into the analyzer
• Pre-calibrated measurement cells replaceable by the user

• Large graphic LCD with backlight
• Stainless steel connectors between the instrument and the gas probe
• Possibility to carry out leak testing of the gas pipe (UNI 7129 and UNI 11137) and print the result (with external accessory)
• Measurement of the draught according to UNI 10845 and possibility to print the result report (with external accessory)

The accessories that complete the two kits are the same as for the other models in the Chemist range:
• ABS case
• Flue gases probe with filter and condensation trap
• Combustion air temperature probe

• Power supply / battery charger
• USB pen drive with PC interfaces software and video instruction manual
• Calibration certificate and user manual
• 2 year warranty on the instrument and cells that can be extended to 4 years
By the year 2011 Seitron will also introduce the option of using on the Chemist 400:
• High-concentration CO measurement cells (0…20.000 and 0…100.000 ppm full scale)
• CO and NO high-resolution measurement cells (0…500 ppm full scale)
• Measurement cell for uncombusted hydrocarbons CxHy
• Infrared CO2 measurement cell
