(Free-Press-Release.com) June 1, 2011 --
The Elios MINI controller for thermal solar panels produced by Seitron – which has been manufacturing temperature control systems for civil heating plants since 1981 – is now designed for DC operation.
Elios MINI is an electronic differential controller for solar panels, whose main function is to handle differential temperatures between the collectors and the storage tank. The controller measures the temperature of the fluid inside the collectors and the fluid in the storage tank; if the difference is greater than a specified value the controller signals a pump to perform a heat exchange. Additionally, if the temperature in the storage tank falls below a specified value the control can order a supplementary heat source to provide more heat. The new version runs on 12V DC power, making it possible to connect the controller directly to a PV module. If even the circulator is powered by 12V DC electricity, the whole system can operate without being connected to the electrical grid.
The new Elios 25 models are also provided with the facility to calculate the heat absorbed from the sun – their operation has been illustrated at the Mostra Convegno Expocomfort.
This product is one of a complete range of Elios solar controllers: 9 models that cover almost all the applications required by the market, developed by Seitron thanks to its special interest for solar thermal energy and renewable sources. Seitron designed its first differential temperature controller for thermal solar panels back in 1981. In fact, it was the company’s first prototype ever, designed by Vito Feleppa, who founded Seitron and is now the company's Managing Director.
Seitron has grown to become the leading Italian manufacturer of solar thermal controllers, setting the standard also on international markets. From when the Elios line was introduced in 2007, the company’s average annual rate of growth has been more than 30%, and in 2009 sales abroad have more than doubled.
