(Free-Press-Release.com) October 13, 2011 --On November 11, 2011, "My Positive Perspective" is hosting a Veteran's Day event in honor of Carolina Canines for Veterans. The event is open to the public and will be at Suede Supper Club from 6:00pm until 10:00pm.
The Charleston, South Carolina Veteran's Day Event theme is: "Service Dogs for Wounded Warriors - Carolina Canines for Veterans ."
Recently acknowledged by "Everyday Heroes in the Positive World " for his work in the community, Carolina Canines Co-Founder Rick Hairston states, "Service Dogs for our Wounded Warriors are needed more than ever for all branches of the United States Armed Forces returning mostly from Iraq and Afghanistan with mobility issues, traumatic brain injury and post traumatic stress....
Carolina Canines for Veterans rescues abandoned dogs, some scheduled "...to be put down," and trains them for a life of service to others. The nonprofit organization also teaches prisoners at the Charleston SC Military Brig to care for the dogs, train them, and turn them over to a needy recipient.
Carolina Canines provides Service Dogs for Veterans, Therapy, Literacy, and Service free of charge. They are supported exclusively by the contributions of volunteers and community donations .
The Charleston SC Veteran's Day Event at Sued Supper Club is sponsored by My Positive Perspective. "MPP" was founded by the author of, "Return From a Comatose Mind," Jason Deierlein.
Jason states, "I have special appreciation for the work of Carolina Canines for Veterans. As a Traumatic Brain Injury survivor, I know firsthand how much these dogs must mean to the returning soldier. My Father is a Veteran and we recently lost my cousin, U.S. Army Specialist Doug Green, to a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.
My Positive Perspective is committed to the advancement and achievement of lives. Our quarterly events are called My Positive Perspective with a Purpose . The purpose of this Veterans Day Celebration is to honor those who served and those who continue to serve. We want everyone to come out and support our Veterans, celebrate their lives & their service, and raise awareness for the Carolina Canines for Veterans program as they continue to service to our country & community."
Jason Deierlein's cousin, U.S. Army Specialist Doug Green, was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. Hundreds of mourners were in attendance. He was 23 years old. He will be honored as a Fallen Soldier at the event.
A $5.00 contribution at the door, and all proceeds from the event, will benefit the nonprofit organization Carolina Canines.
