FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 27, 2010 --
After careful consideration of 185 artist portfolios, seven emerging talents have been announced for publication in the Summer 2010 Visual Overture Magazine exhibition-in-print. The juror, Kathy Stockman, had a difficult task in narrowing down the 185 qualified entrants from all parts of the world and from all visual art backgrounds. The one thing all entrants had in common? They were all emerging artists hoping to be published and seen.

http://www.visualoverture.com The seven international artists selected as the "Featured Emerging Artists" make use of a diverse range of innovative artistic media including digital, cardboard, collage, photography, acrylic paint, oil paint, and various installation materials. Presenting an interesting cross section of emerging contemporary art, the Summer 2010 issue features Michelle Scott, Joomi Chung, Virginia Saunders, David Purcell, Leah Cooper, Aaron Morgan Brown, and David Lindsay. Each artist will be displayed on two pages in Visual Overture Magazine including 3-6 images of their recent work, bio, artist statement, and notes from the juror.
Of particular interest are David Lindsay's oil paintings on unconventionally shaped canvases. Featured on the cover of the Summer 2010 issue, Lindsay's work invites viewers to engage in paintings with a new attitude. Some of his larger works are installations which allow the viewer to walk in and out of the parts of the painting, while other pieces are smaller but equally powerful.
The seven "Featured Emerging Artists" together create a sundry mix of international art from amongst which any contemporary fine art gallery, curator, or collector could find something to suit their interests. The Summer 2010 issue of Visual Overture Magazine, in which these artists and other note-worthy art articles are featured, will be available May 10, 2010.
