SGIS to Host Golf Tournament Benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 29, 2009 -- SGIS has announced their fourth annual golf tournament in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The golf tournament will take place Friday, October 16th at The Courses at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area, with all proceeds benefiting the foundation.

“We are extremely proud to support such an important cause,” said SGIS President Vince Virga. “Events such as this are only possible through the participation and sponsorship of generous individuals and organizations, so we encourage everyone to get involved. It is our hope that people will contribute in any way they can and aid us in raising money for the foundation. Breast cancer patients and survivors need all the support they can get; it is vital that we all do our part. With our help, Susan G. Komen for the Cure can continue the fight against breast cancer.”

In 2006, Virga founded the SGIS Annual Golf Tournament in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to honor his mother, a breast cancer survivor. Over the past three years, this event has raised over $15,000, which has aided the foundation in the fight to eradicate breast cancer by advancing research, education, screening and treatment of the disease.

The tournament will involve local and national businesses through sponsorship including Budweiser, the official beverage sponsor; the Lorien Hotel and Spa and Kimpton Hotels of Alexandria, the official hotel sponsor and CareerBuilder. Sponsorships are a great way to get publicity and showcase services and items such as golf products, catering services and merchandise to be used for the silent auction. With six different sponsorship levels to choose from, local and national businesses can easily select their tax-deductible donation level to become involved with this year’s event.
