A shade sail structure now covers the amphitheater at the new East Campus of Sacramento Municipal Utility District. Measuring 4,420 square foot, the amphitheater is used for outdoor training sessions. Hundreds of students stay cool during each session.
The shade structure consists of (4) cable-tensioned fabrics warped into 3D hyperbolic curves. Ten posts encircle a center post that rises 28' high. Seven of the posts are at the top of the amphitheater, which is 10' above the stage.
This project was design-build. Shade Comforts designed, engineered, fabricated and constructed the shade sail structure.
