Shoffee.com Now Offers Free Shipping to US Military Personnel with Shoffee Kares Program
Internet coffee retailer Shoffee.comrecently launched the Shoffee Kares program which provides free shipping on all orders placed by or being delivered to those serving in the United States Military.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 13, 2010 --Internet coffee retailer Shoffee.com recently launched the Shoffee Kares program which provides free shipping on all orders placed by or being delivered to those serving in the United States Military with an APO, FPO or DPO mailing address.
As part of this program, Shoffee.com sells Shoffee Kares Credits (K-Credits) for one dollar each on its site, than matches any money raised dollar-for-dollar to cover the cost of offering free shipping to military personnel, and allows Shoffee.com to send Shoffee Kares Packages to military personnel to whom they have shipped in the past.
“We are extremely proud of the Shoffee Kares Program,” said Joe Simonovich, co-founder of Shoffee.com. “It all started coming together when I received an email from a lieutenant in the United States Navy, serving in Basra, Iraq.”
The email was mainly to inquire about Shoffee.com’s shipping methods, and to find out if there was any additional charge, or if it was even possible for Shoffee to ship Keurig K-Cups to Iraq.
“Up until that point, we were shipping to FPO, APO and DPO, U.S. Military addresses by way of (USPS) Priority Mail at no additional charge,” said Simonovich. “But this email talked about just how much something as simple as a shipment of Keurig K-Cups meant to these men and women who were out there in the desert serving our country.”
The idea to offer free shipping to all U.S. Military Personnel was something that Shoffee.com put into effect within 48 hours of receiving the email (from Lt William Edson of the 2515th Naval Air Ambulance Detachment in Basra, Iraq), but because of the customer response to the free-shipping program on The Shoffee Blog and Shoffee.com’s Facebook Fan Page, the program quickly expanded.
“As soon as we posted something about this email and the new free-shipping program, our customers began asking how they could also help to send coffee to U.S. Troops overseas,” said Simonovich. “People were sending us emails that they wanted their free sampler bags (which Shoffee.com customers get with each $75 order) sent to random military personnel instead of to them. We realized we needed to come up with a plan with some structure quickly.”
The idea of selling Shoffee Kares Credits was the solution that Shoffee.com deemed to be the best solution.
“By customers buying a Shoffee K-Credit for $1.00 each, and us matching each one dollar-for-dollar, it allows us to do even more than just offer free shipping,” said Simonovich. “Lieutenant Edson and the 2515th have quickly become a favorite around our offices, and from the first credits we sold we were able to ship them a Shoffee Kares Package.”
Upon receiving the package from Shoffee.com, the 2515th NAAD flew a United States Flag for Shoffee.com on July 13, 2010, and then sent that flag, a certificate detailing it’s significance, and disc filled with images of the entire 2515th NAAD enjoying what Shoffee.com had shipped.
“The gesture was very touching,” said Simonovich. “It is something that I never thought that selling K-Cups on the web could lead to – I mean, they flew the American Flag in a warzone on our behalf. That’s huge!”
About the Shoffee Kares Program
Shoffee.com ships orders of any size absolutely free, without the need to use a coupon code, as long as they have a military “state” abbreviation in either the shipping or billing address. Shoffee Kares Credits (K-Credits) are available on Shoffee.com for $1.00 each ( http://www.shoffee.com/detail.asp?id=19KCRED), and each K-Credit purchased is matched by Shoffee.com.
