(Free-Press-Release.com) December 27, 2010 --
Simon Wilby, successful inventor discusses a proposal with Barbados late Prime Minister David Thompson regarding solar energy overhaul of city lights throughout Barbados. This proposal detailed here: https://acrobat.com/#d=l7t8GUbeVqPcKVK-3GZkjw in a letter from Barbados Late Prime Minister David Thompson, discussing the replacement and removal of all conventional street lamps and external lighting at all Barbados Government facilities, including all primary and secondary schools, office buildings, parks and recreational facilities with solar-powered lights. Install solar-powered street lamps in every unlit community or village in Barbados without adding to the country’s annual fuel bill.
The companies proposing to undertake this enormous task are TSP and native Barbados Co. SES Inc.
The Smart Power Inc. is a Barbados headquartered company, with a satellite office in Alberta, Canada. Its mission is to create and market a range of environmentally friendly products that draw their energy from renewable sources, thus contributing to the development of a greener, healthier planet.
TSP has teamed up with Chinese fabricators to produce a range of products for the global market, to be sold from its headquarters in Barbados.
The product list includes:
• The Sail One and the Sail One Hybrid — solar and Wind powered street lamps.
• The Smart One and The Smart Two — solar powered cell phones.
• The Smart Juice — a solar power retrofit package for laptop computers.
• The Smart Detectors — solar powered smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
• The Smart Bulb — self-charging light bulbs.
• The Smart Tile — photovoltaic tiles that replace most existing roof tiles and shingles as part of a solar energy solution for homes and commercial buildings.
TSP aims to be successful by employing strategies that support its philosophy of being “first to market” with truly innovative products. With a commitment to simplicity, affordability, dependability and profitability, TSP has adopted as its motto: Think Green, Think Solar, Think Smart!
Solar Energy Solutions Inc. is a division of Simmons Electrical, a small but growing Six Roads, St. Philip-based Company that provides total electrical solutions for all sizes of jobs, with services that range from retail sales to major electrical contracting projects in Barbados, the Caribbean and South and Central America.
Simmons Electrical has undertaken a number of high profile private and public sector lighting/electrical projects in Barbados, including Hilton Barbados and Independence Square. Across the region, however, Simmons Electrical is best known for the installation and maintenance of lighting and electrical systems at more than 200 gas stations in a dozen countries.
As part of the company’s recognition of the need for “green” solutions and its commitment to be part of the change environment, Solar Energy Solutions Inc. was formed in 2007. It sought and obtained affiliations for renewable energy agencies in North America, and started the process of acquiring equipment that would support its new thrust, established a renewable energy demonstration park at its St. Philip compound, and trained most of its technical staff for implementing and maintaining alternative energy solutions.
Currently, SES is involved in discussions with the Government of the Bahamas to provide solar powered street lighting in many of the islands of that nation where maintaining conventional lighting solutions is proving to be exceptionally costly.
