Filmmakers of the documentary focusing on Sirius XM are not surprised by the higher stock price of SIRI. "Stock Shock," a movie about Sirius XM's history and stockholders, was produced by director and shareholder Sandra Mohr. "I wanted to get the story about Sirius XM and its plummeting stock price out to the public as soon as possible," says the filmmaker. "Investors were losing their shirts and we believed the movie would help to educate and protect them." It seems to have worked. Soon after the movie spotlighted the ravaged shares of Sirius XM, the company stock rose nearly 10-fold. "Manipulative short selling was the primary reason shares of Sirius XM and so many other stocks tanked last March," says Mohr, "and when you put a media spotlight on nefarious trading, it has a tendency to stop."

"Stock Shock" is a documentary about the history of Sirius XM and zeros in on the hopeful investors and fans of the satellite radio company. After CEO Mel Karmazin managed to merge Sirius Radio and XM in 2008, investors believed the stock was poised to go above its high of 9 dollars per share. But filmmakers of "Stock Shock" allege that SIRI was attacked by aggressive hedge funds and short sellers who drove the equity down to a horrifying .05 cents per share in early 2009. The movie lays out a case blaming "naked short selling," the practice of selling stock one never actually owns, and poor SEC regulation for the stocks demise.

Mel Karmazin appeared on CNBC to discuss Sirius XM's future, and Q3 earnings for 2009. Having come back from the brink of bankruptcy in February 2009, investors were thrilled as he announced Sirius XM's first profitable quarter. Next, the company hopes to avoid a Nasdaq imposed reverse stock split by getting the stock back up over 1.00/share.

Now that the documentary about Sirius XM, "Stock Shock," has found a place on Netflix and Amazon-on-demand, the sky may be the limit for this satellite company and its loyal, newly famous shareholders. A trailer for the movie can be seen at www.stockshockmovie.com .
