FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 17, 2010 -- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Aliso Viejo, CA January 25, 2010 -- Smish, (http://smi.sh) the platform for apps on the PC and netbooks, has created a unique and novel website designed to generate awareness of the victims of the earthquake in Haiti and to raise donations for their relief.

With the Company in the final weeks of releasing Smish Beta, (http://smi.sh/#optin) it decided to halt all software production for a few days and direct all resources towards building and promoting Lifeline to Haiti. (http://lifelinetohaiti.smi.sh/)

The project allows users to upload a picture of themselves holding their arms straight out. Pictures are matched as if the people are holding hands, creating a lifeline directed towards Port-Au-Prince. The objective is to get enough users to bridge the gap from Florida in the United States directly to Port-Au-Prince, which is approximately 700 miles. Each user is encouraged to donate, but is not required. All of the proceeds go directly to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund. (http://clinton-bushhaitifund.com/)

"This project makes me have a little more faith in the goodness of human nature. Hundreds of random strangers taking the time to line up, hand to hand, in support of people they've never met, is an awesome thing," said Smish Creative Director Brig White.

The goal is to reach 700 miles, (640,000 people) and raise $2 million for Haiti. The initiative came from the suggestion of two interns from the Miami Ad School who were working on the branding of Smish, at its offices. Jordan Swan and Nicole Albrecht brought the idea to Creative Director, Brig White with the hope to create a virtual lifeline to Haiti.

Smish CEO Hal Halladay stated, "Did we have the time and resources to divert to this project? It was an easy decision. It was an organic idea and a unique opportunity to use our talents and skills to help the crisis in Haiti."
