Sony's New Waterproof Smartphone

The new Xperia Z is one of the latest phones to become rivals with Apple's iPhone and other big brands, this time Sony have come back with a bang.

Around 7 years ago if you got your friends together and asked them to put all their phones on the table there'd be a huge array of different models from different brands, in the last 5 years if you did that you'd see a massive collection of iPhones and maybe the odd other phone, Apple's dominance is quite amazing however 2013 is set to become the year that the dominance is watered down and Sony have become the latest big name to throw a spanner in the mix.

Sony have announced the launch of the Xperia Z handset at CES 2013 the consumer electronics show and it's had an amazing reception, the phone is something that you may have had dreams that the iPhone 5 would've been, featuring extremely high quality build and an impressive array of features from the HD 5 inch screen to the 13 megapixel camera.

Sony have really impressed with the Xperia Z handset and they haven't stopped at simply having some features that others phones have but at a better quality, no they have added unique features such as the water and dust resistant feature, meaning you can essentially drop your phone into a bath of water for 30 minutes and it'll be fine, now they don't recommend this but it's good to know that if you do drop it in some water it'll be fine. Now you may think that this means the handset will be big, chunky and rubbery but it's anything but that.

The various deals that will be available once realised in the UK around March will be very competitive in comparison to the iPhone deals and we can tell that it will quickly become one of the hottest handsets of 2013.
