Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival Draws Nature Lovers

Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival takes place January 21- 26, around the Titusville campus of Brevard Community College.

The 12th annual event -- a favorite for nature observers and photographers -- is presented by Nikon and The Brevard Nature Alliance, and is also sponsored by Dixie Crossroads Seafood Restaurant, the Space Coast Office of Tourism and other local entities.

The Birding and Wildlife Festival presents a packed schedule for nature lovers, and binoculars, hiking shoes and sea legs are a must.

“Our Birding and Wildlife Festival draws the year-round nature tourists from all over the world,” said Rob Varley, executive director of the Space Coast Office of Tourism. “And that shows that we have a terrific destination for nature enthusiasts to visit. The event has really played an important role in building our nature tourism industry, which is a growing sector of our travel business.”

Festival activities include more than 300 family-friendly events such as: tours of locations like the Canaveral National Seashore and the Indian River Lagoon; a nature travel trade show; boat and kayak excursions, photography workshops and more.

Other highlights of the festival include a welcome reception at the Exhibit Center and the Sunday Social at Fox Lake Park.
