The owners of The Sports Shack know more about sports than most others in the area. They live, eat, and breathe sports. They can probably talk sports with the best of professional sports commentators. Besides being able to hang with the toughest of sports fans, they don't mind showing others their sensitive sides. Is this unusual for guys who like to pal around at sports bars? Perhaps, but there is one other detail we shouldn't leave out that puts everything together. The owners and founders of The Sports Shack happen to be women.

Linda Major and Susan Myers, co-owners, are helping bring awareness to breast cancer for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and are doing their parts to raise funds for breast cancer research in an online effort by combining two things guys love...sports and women. For the month of October, they have pledged to donate 10% of the selling price from the sales of ALL items to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (www.bcrfcure.org), an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide, and by increasing public awareness about good breast health.

On December 3, 2008, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution stated that the overall health of Georgians, already considered among the nation’s worst, has slipped further and now ranks 41st out of the 50 states. Accordingly, The Sports Shack is committed to helping Georgia and the Southeast improve in health and living conditions by sponsoring a new charity each month and encourages other businesses to find ways to improve life for others as well.
