Springs Window Fashions LLC Achieves Green Professional Award

Middleton, Wisconsin, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) June 30, 2011 -- Springs Window Fashions is one of the first Wisconsin building supply firms to earn Green Professional status under the WI Sustainable Business Council's Green Masters Program. As a Green Professional, Springs Window Fashions has performed actions in each of nine "sustainability areas", and has earned more than 100 points.

"Sustainability has become a keystone to the Springs business model," says Tom Eggert, Executive Director of the WI Sustainable Business Council. Springs Window Fashions is a manufacturer of window treatments that help their customers meet or exceed LEED specifications. "Their window treatments have been helping customers go green for over a decade, but it's the changes they've made within their own systems and energy use which really prove their dedication to sustainability."

Examples of recent actions that Springs Window Fashions is proud of include:
· Installation of state of the art motion sensitive lighting in the Middleton, WI warehouse to minimize lighting energy costs
· Implementation of advanced finger joint processes to turn small wood scraps into useable components for shutters in our Grayling, MI facility
· Development of new fabric cutting optimization software to reduce textile waste
· Creation of an employee challenge contest to reduce waste and save energy in all of our offices.

Candidates are judged on a comprehensive range of sustainability issues from energy and natural resource use to education outreach and purchasing. 60 Wisconsin businesses have participated in the program where the top twenty percent achieve the highest "Green Master" designation.
