Jazz Sax Artist Brandon Primus is set to perform at the Sri Lanka Day Festival in Santa Monica, CA Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sri Lanka Day is an annual one-day event presented by Sri Lanka Foundation at the world famous Third Street Promenade of Santa Monica, California showcasing Sri Lankan musicians, dancers, food and businesses. Primus a former “Showtime at the Apollo” winner has shared the stage with Rashaan Patterson, Jody Watley, Jeffrey Osborne, and Eric Roberson. He has performed across the country at places that includes Ashford & Simpson's Sugar Bar, Cafe Wha Greenwich Village, Club Groove NYC, and the Village Underground a legendary New York club known as a proving ground for young talent. His California venues include 98.1 Smooth Jazz Festival, The USS Midway Museum “Gospel on the USS Midway”,(San Diego) Palihouse Holloway in West Hollywood, and Pechanga Casino and Resort in Temecula, CA. This young and talented sax artist is a hybrid of contemporary jazz with elements of R&B that is soulful and smooth. Influenced the late icon jazz saxophonist Grover Washington Jr., his sound will leave you mesmerized as he begins his signature march on stage to the sound of his soulful horn. Brandon will also accompany renowned Jazzy Soulful Harpist, Mariea Antoinette, in a mini concert.
