NEW YORK, NY, Nov.1, 2011 — Wicked Start, the only free online incubator for startups, invites aspiring entrepreneurs to sign up for their evening Startup Smart Workshop and networking event on Nov. 9, 2011 at the beautiful New York Times Building in midtown Manhattan to learn how to pitch and fund a new business, and get a chance to win $1,500 in prizes. The interactive, four-hour workshop and networking event will benefit anyone in the early stages of starting a business or thinking about it. The evening will begin at 5:30 pm with an introduction to Wicked Start’s “10 Steps to Startup” by Wicked Start Founder, Bryan Janeczko, followed by speeches and Q&A sessions with top startup experts, and a pitch contest for the best business ideas and pitches.
In addition to Janeczko, presenters will include: Jeff Klein, Partner in the Technology Companies Group at Goodwin Procter, law firm; Dana Mauriello, serial entrepreneur and Co-founder of ProFounder, a leading crowdfunding investment platform; David Beatty, a prominent angel investor and Managing Director Golden Seeds, an angel investors network; and Laura Allen, a well-known marketing consultant and Co-founder of 15SecondPitch.com.
Howard Greenstein, Contributing Editor to Inc.com’s the “Startup Tool Kit,” will lead a breakout session where participants will develop and refine their pitches. Darlene Newman, Wicked Start Chief Technologista and Co-founder, will also be on hand to provide expert advice.
