SteriTouch® chosen to protect medical storage range from Gratnells

With hospital acquired infections at a record high, Gratnells took the decision to finish all of their healthcare range of trolleys and frames with SteriTouch® powder coat.

SteriTouch® manufactures a range of antimicrobial additives based on the natural sterilising properties of silver, for use in almost any material. A minute amount of silver is required for the end product to become effective against infection causing bacteria such as MRSA and E.Coli, and also mould growth. Available in any RAL colour plus glass-clear, SteriTouch® powder coat can be supplied in a matt, satin or gloss finish.

Adding SteriTouch® protection requires no changes to manufacturing processes and the antibacterial properties will remain effective for the lifetime of the product. As such, adding SteriTouch® to an existing application is a cost effective method of preventing cross-infection on items that may not be part of routine cleaning, such as hospital trolleys and storage systems.
