Steve Pitcairn facilitates successful SBA program in Memphis.

Memphis, Tennessee, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 2, 2010 -- For the third year, Steve Pitcairn has been the lead facilitator of the e200 program in Memphis which just recently had its 2010 graduation. This initiative of the SBA is focused on bolstering entrepreneurial success in these areas that will generate new jobs, attract investment, and provide a more sustainable economic base.

The e200 program is an executive level entrepreneurial development and training course that has helped more than 600 promising small business owners from 22 cities across the country grow their businesses since 2008. “e200 is a highly effective tool for small business owners in underserved communities to maximize their potential for success,” SBA Administrator Karen Mills said. “Graduates of the program increase their revenue, create jobs and drive local economic growth in their communities.”

In the past three years, the Memphis program has graduated 45 entrepreneurs from the program. A prior Memphis graduate, Dorothy Sinclair, founder of Brighter Days and Nights described her experience as “I learned everything from sales and marketing to financing and even how to increase networking opportunities. I'm a different -- and better -- business person because of it."

Results gathered from a recent survey of past e200 graduating classes from around the country show dramatic advances for these businesses. More than half of the businesses that have participated in e200 have shown an increase in revenue, and nearly 60 percent have created new jobs in spite of the challenging economy.

In addition to facilitating the SBA’s e200 program, he mentors business owners through-out West Tennessee and provides training in many corporate and civic venues.
