Wet road leads to Two-vehicle accident on northbound Chevy Silverado.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 24, 2012 -- Warmer temperatures have kept the roadways free of ice and snow, but they didn’t keep a northbound Chevy Silverado from losing control on a wet stretch of I-15 Saturday morning and striking a passing semi, forcing both vehicles off the road and closing the northbound lanes south of Inkom.

The 8:37 a.m. accident sent the driver of the pickup, Steven Shade, 60, of Ogden, Utah, his passenger, Tyson Shade, 25, of Ogden, and the driver of the Kenworth semi, C.J. Palmer, 29, of Rupert, to Portneuf Medical Center for treatment of injuries

After colliding, both the semi truck and the pickup truck traveled through the guardrail and down a steep 50-foot embankment, coming to rest at the bottom.

Steven and Tyson Shade were wearing their seatbelts. Palmer was not wearing his.

Southeast Idaho can expect to experience even more hazardous driving conditions as this persistent wet front pounds the area. The National Weather Service issued a high wind advisory for Bannock and Power counties Saturday night. A snow and rain mixture will continue in the Snake River Plain.

Snow was more likely in the Soda Springs and Montpelier areas through as the Weather Service continues its winter weather advisory for that area.
