Bangalore. 15 Sep 2011. Stonehill International School in Bangalore North has been rated as the best International school in Bangalore in a first ever survey of International schools in Bangalore conducted by ThinkVidya.com, an online company known to help parents find best learning options in India. The school was rated overall 4.3 (on scale of 5) and was followed up by The International School of Bangalore, Sarjapur Road (rating 4.09) on second spot along with Trio World School (rating 4.07) and Jain International School (rating 4.07) jointly at number 3.

This survey was conducted independently based on the response from parents and teachers of the International school community in Bangalore. The survey questionnaires were hosted on the ThinkVidya.com website for a period of over 2 months between April and June 2011. Parents and teachers from the International Schools were invited to participate in the survey. These responses were further augmented by secondary research based on publicly available information about the school.

The report looked at 7 categories to rate each of the schools i.e. Infrastructure & Facilities, Safety & Security, Quality of Education, Overall child development, Value for money, Overall Satisfaction and Brand Recognition. For most of the questions in the survey the respondents were asked to rate the school on a scale of 1 to 5. The maximum rating points that a school could score across every category was 5.
Stonehill topped the chart with best Infrastructure and facilities as well as Brand recognition among participating parents and teachers.
While Jain International School was rated school with the best Quality of Education, Trio ranked number 1 for safety and security of kids, Primus was rated school that offered best Value for Money. Legacy topped the chart for the school with best overall development of the child.

The survey indicated that there were no clear winner across categories and most of the categories saw different set of schools performing better than others. While some International schools were found quite popular among parents than others, the survey report suggested that most of the schools were close to each other in the overall performance rating.

ThinkVidya.com Co-founder Santosh Kevlani says, “Among all parents, the expats community feedback was rather lukewarm. Expats who have recently migrated to India felt the schools needed to do more than just cosmetic changes to be called a truly world class international school. They seek the change in the mindset of school management as well as teaching staff of these International schools.”

“Like we expected, The brand recognition of International schools is very concentrated for few schools in Bangalore. While we surveyed parents & teachers from over 20 International schools, more than 75% of parents & teachers of other schools have voted for one of the 4 International schools (Stonehill, TISB, Aditi Mallya & Candian) to be the best among all.” Says, Rakesh Kalra, ThinkVidya co-founder.
The International school survey report is supported by AGS four winds International movers, Chairman’s Club & Resort and Sanskruti Holistic Center. Overall, the report is a great resource for anyone looking to put their kids in any of the International schools in Bangalore. It also gives little insight to teachers about these schools before they take up any offers. The complete report can be downloaded from ThinkVidya.com by paying Rs. 450.
