Use clear plastic bins – Totes that allow you to see inside will make for easier identification and unpacking the following year. Labeling the content of a box will also make finding specific items easier.

China, Stoneware, Glasses and Crystal – fragile dishware should be individually wrapped or put in plastic sleeves. Fill any empty space with packing material and mark ‘fragile’ on all sides of the box.

Don’t over pack – packing too many heavy items into a box can cause it to fall or collapse damaging your fragile items. Distribute heavy items between multiple boxes.

Use packing material - Wrapping fragile items in bubble wrap will help prevent breakage during transportation. Also, using boxes of the same size allows for easier stacking.

Remove batteries – batteries can leak during storage and cause damage to surrounding items.
