It is not a secret anymore that Bilbao (in the north of Spain) is experiencing extraordinary changes in its structure. Since the late 80´s, the changes in the urban dimension of the city have radically transformed the city, however, maintaining the best of the traditional essence of Bilbao. Many of those changes have come from the hands of internationally renowned architects such as Frank Ghery, César Pelli, Foster, Calatrava, and Isozaki.
Some of their amazing work such as the Guggenheim museum, the new airport, the metro system, the tramway, and the restoration of the whole margin of the river are already internationally known. Furthermore, it seems that the best is still to come as we observe in the video provided that follows. It is possible to see our dearly traditional Bilbao and its constructions which are the symbol of modernity in the city, and at the same time, we can see the new projects that will become reality in the upcoming years.
The Spanish Language students have the opportunity to learn Spanish in a different environment, enjoy all the different ambiences of the city, the traditional cuisine, the modernity, and also to participate in the changes that await us in the future. At Instituto Hemingway we offer free guided visits to go see such emblematic buildings that form part of the past and the future of the city as well as get to know the projects that lie ahead for the future.
