Success “Illuminates” Annual Celebration Hamlin Robinson School Auction Gala Packs the WAC!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 1, 2010 --
(Seattle, WA) Seattle’s Washington Athletic Club (WAC) was the sold-out scene of an amazing night of raising money and a full evening of fun and celebration at “Illuminations 2010,” supporting Hamlin Robinson School (HRS), an important and unique school in Seattle dedicated to students with dyslexia and related language difficulties.

The evening, with a wonderful Western theme, began with an incredible silent auction with nearly 300 items in nine different categories, ranging from gourmet to getaway, and from the arts to entertainment. It was a spectacular display of items donated by wonderfully generous supporters of HRS.

The sold out crowd was treated to a wonderful dinner followed by a fun-filled live auction that included an ‘instant wine cellar,’ with over 40 bottles of various wines, a week at a game lodge in South Africa, great travel getaways, and a collection of stunning and incredible class art projects.

The evening featured remarks by Kirk Vande Brake, a 2008 graduate, who shared his joy, wonder and deep gratitude for Hamilton Robinson School giving him skills necessary to be successful in life. His moving story touched the hearts of those in the audience, who raised their bid cards in generous support of the school.

The outpouring of love and support overwhelmed Deb Barr, this year’s auction co-chair. “Our volunteers, families and friends have worked so hard for so long on this auction, and tonight out dreams came true!” Deb’s co-chair, Susan Ford added, “We are so proud of those who support our school in it’s multi-sensory language approach, helping students to strive towards discovering the joy of learning, building positive self-esteem, exploring creative potential and acquiring the specific language skills necessary for success.”

Auctioneer April Brown also knows the importance of this school. “We are so honored to be a part of helping to sustain and strengthen Hamlin Robinson School, which truly understands the interdependence of the educational, social, and emotional needs of dyslexic students. We salute the hard working volunteers!”

Celebrating nearly 20 years of fund raising, April’s Powerhouse Auction Team includes a trio of auction professionals, including Mike Brown from ESPN 710 and Neil Scott, update anchor on Sports Radio 950 KJR.
