Sue’s new business has bags of inspiration from her children
Welcome visit Our WebSite:
http://www.highlightspr.co.uk When Sue Dodds-Crouth from Ashington took voluntary redundancy from her teaching job at Alnwick’s Duchess’s High School she decided to use her experiences of children’s parties to fill a niche gap in the children’s entertainment market. Her idea was to provide ready-made goodie bags for parties and events and deliver them direct to her customers. Now her business Roloca’s Realm, named after a combination of her three children (Rohan, 6, Lorien, 4 and Calion, 1) is proving to be a success at children’s soft play areas, tourist information centres and the newly opened zoo at Kirkley Hall.
“I wanted to supply the complete package for my clients,” said Sue. “Every toy or activity in the goody bag is individually wrapped, of the highest quality and perfectly safe for kids to use. Ordering is via my new website and the ready-made packs are delivered direct to your door in time for the party.”
The business of setting up business was made much less daunting thanks to the expert help of Ashington-based business start-up support organisation Go Wansbeck.
Go Wansbeck’s Enterprise coach Lisa Scott helped her with specialist business skills, such as marketing, cash flow forecasting and general business support.
“Sue has put her experience of working with children to good use and she has created a solution to a problem that a lot of parents have, for example, what do they put in the packs and is the quality good enough for their children’s party?” said Lisa. “Sue is very organised and knows the direction to take her business to next, we all wish her the best of luck in the future.”
