FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 12, 2010 -- Superior Court Candidate Ed Montgomery Weighs in on Dr. Phil Coverage of San Bernardino Family Courts

Dr. Phil hosted candidate for Superior Court Judge seat #11 James Hosking to discuss the tragic events related to the case of Katie Tagle and the loss of her son Wyatt. According to the program website this episode is slated to air April 14th.

This is just one of the four tragic murder/suicide cases in San Bernardino County during the months of January and February 2010 that involved Family law and Domestic Violence issues. We should not forget the other children that have been killed at the hands of a loved one.

Ed Montgomery appreciates that Dr. Phil took the time to cover this tragedy and hopes that such national attention will bring light to the under served family courts in our community.

Ed a candidate for Superior Court seat #29 is the only candidate on the judicial ballot with extensive experience in the family court serving as a substitute judge for the last ten years. He is experienced in handling an emotionally charged assignment and protecting our children. He emphatically agrees that our family court system needs to change for the sake of families in our community and he is the only judicial candidate who has dedicated his career in San Bernardino county to doing so.

"This case was a wake up call to our community to look at how the courts are run. We should not forget the families who turn to the court for protection and mediation after this election." Ed is ready to meet that challenge from the day of his oath and will never forget as a father and grandfather the solemn responsibility judges have to protect our children.

Ed sees this election as an opportunity to start the discussion with voters about the family courts. "Much of the ability to help families and sort out "high conflict" versus "high risk" cases between parents comes from experience." Ed is ready to apply that experience from day one to help families.

Ed looks forward to the release of the Elkins Family Law task force report later this month to continue this important discussion. "I would love to see a community forum among all of the judicial candidates to discuss how to take action beyond rhetoric and serve the court which has the greatest impact on our families." He adds, "If you have not been in the family court yourself, you know someone who has, and I want to bring long term change after the short term light of a very public tragedy as faded." The sixteen years Ed has spent in this court point to his longterm commitment on the issue.
