SWFL Social Media Event of the Year

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 29, 2009 -- Certainly you have heard of Twitter and the buzz about Social Media. Well, the new and much buzzed about Twitter community fundraiser is called Twestival.

Twestival is coming this September! This is a GLOBAL event with participating cities all around the world raising money for local charities. This is a social media extravaganza that is being covered by NBC and Fox news.

The SWFL Twestival is 1 of only 2 Twestivals in all of Florida and will be raising money for The Pace Center of Lee County for girls.

This is a great opportunity for SWFL vendors of all sorts (restaurants, shops, salons, boat cruises) to get lots and lots of media attention...just by "hosting" a mini-Twestival during Twestival hours.

What does this mean? Just by putting up notices, decorating etc. and allowing one of our volunteers to sell raffle tickets (for the Pace Center) on the day of the event...each vendor will get loads of publicity. How? Everyone present will be encouraged to "Tweet" on location about the food they are eating, the fun they are having etc. and will mention to the whole social media universe that they are at that particular vendor's location. In addition to this, vendors will get mention in press releases, TV coverage and receive a Tweet every time someone purchases a raffle ticket at their location.

Twestival is designed to call people to action on very short notice (the nature of Twitter). This event was officially organized in SWFL on Aug. 25. It is not too late to join in by spreading the word and fueling the excitement.

The Twestival also needs donations (large and small) for raffle prizes, T-shirt sponsors, and more volunteers (to act as hosts at vendor sites, sell raffle tickets).

Please send your questions to @updatesmbs of Updatesmallbusiness.com as well as a time to talk. We need to act fast to make sure all SWFL vendors are able to be part of this media event.
