Sykes Chapel Wins 2011 Chairman’s Award from Metal Roofing

Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) November 29, 2011 -- MetalTech-USA is pleased to announce that it has received the Metal Roofing Chairman’s Award for its role in the Sykes Chapel design project. MetalTech-USA performed the custom fabrication for the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Value located in Tampa, Florida.

Funded by private donations, the 12,750-square-foot facility was built in 2010. The newly-constructed chapel was created to replace the existing chapel, which was previously confined to a floor in the Plant Hall. The need for additional classroom space and a larger chapel played a role in the decision to move forward with the new chapel.

MetalTech-USA fabricated the .8mm Double Lock Standing Seam zinc building panels used in the roofing. For the soffit and façade systems, MetalTech-USA engineered the 1.2mm vertical zinc Reveal panels. Zinc composite materials were used for the fabrication of the fascia cladding. The blue gray finish was used across all of the metal building systems.

Each year, the Metal Construction Association recognizes companies in seven categories: Metal Roofing, Commercial/Industrial, Municipal, Institutional, Educational, Residential and Overall Excellence. The Sykes Chapel was one of ten projects recognized this year for the MCA Chairman’s Awards.
