TARDEC Selects DRIVE Developments, Inc. as OMNIBUS Prime

The US Army Tank-Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) has selected DRIVE Developments, Inc. as a prime contractor for their TARDEC OMNIBUS award.

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 17, 2009 -- Warren, MI – Sept 17, 2009 – The US Army Tank-Automotive Research, Development and
Engineering Center (TARDEC) has selected DRIVE Developments, Inc. as a prime contractor for their TARDEC OMNIBUS award. The total estimated dollar value of the task orders awarded under this acquisition is to be up to $500,000,000 ($500M), over a five (5) year period.

"TARDEC has a rich history of creating successful partnerships with industry," TARDEC Director Grace Bochenek stated in early stages of the OMNIBUS evaluation period. "The goal for these planning meetings is for TARDEC to continue developing those industry relationships by seeking out the best-qualified contractors who can offer us long-term support and will enhance our existing in-house strengths and abilities as we collaborate on improvements to vehicle and system performance and protection. This will, in turn, allow us to fulfill our continued mission to be the Department of Defense's Ground Vehicle Center of Excellence."1

DRIVE Developments, Inc. and other prime contractors will help augment existing resources with experience and additional capability exceeding available in-house Research, Development, and Engineering (RDE) capabilities. “DRIVE Developments, Inc. is excited to support and enhance the in-house ability of TARDEC resulting in improvements to vehicle and system performance enabling TARDEC to fulfill their mission.” said DRIVE Developments, Inc. Other RDECOM organizations and TACOM Contracting Center partners may utilize the contracts to acquire services covered under the statement of work, provided they first obtain written approval from the TACOM Contracting Center in consultation with the TARDEC Acquisition Management Office. This contract will provide a wide variety of services, ranging from the concept phase through demilitarization and will include support for all programs/projects in or supported by TARDEC and will provide surge capability as needed.
